We believe in the power of stories.

The power to move us, challenge us, heal us, inspire us, and unite us.

THE HOULIHAN NARRATIVES is a live community story-telling event held in the small mountain town of Lander, Wyoming.

In the style of The Moth, The Raven Narratives, and others, each event focuses on a theme and invites community members to share their stories in front of a live audience.

These stories are true as told by the speakers, their vulnerability offered in exchange for the respectful listening ears of attendees. Each event is recorded, and selected stories can be heard as episodes of our podcast.

Whether you’ve got a story of your own to tell, or simply like to sit back and listen, we hope you’ll join us at a live event and feel the power of stories for yourself.

If you aren’t from the American West or familiar with horses, the name might be a mystery to you. A houlihan is a style of roping, often used for picking a horse or cow out of a group at a long distance.

The image of the houlihan honors our western roots and our love of the outdoors, and symbolizes the drawing in of our people, our community.

We believe we’re strongest when tied together.
